For birthdays, I normally volunteer to make dessert that the birthday gal/guy will like. When it comes to my sister, I can experiment because she loves everything. I often make something that I would love to eat for my own birthday but I try to keep it interesting.
Last year I made a vanilla cake so this year I wanted to make something more chocolatey. It's no secret, I'm crazy about peanut butter and chocolate or any other nut/choco combination for that matter so when I saw this recipe, I knew it was going to be perfect.
My husband described it as breakfast and dessert rolled into a cupcake. In fact, my mother confessed to me that she ate one for breakfast. She would never have allowed me to do that as a kid so I imagine it scored high points with her to force her to break rules like that. Honestly, I would have done the same thing, but little eyes were looking at me and I would have needed to share half of mine. hahaha!

It looks pretty. ^_^ I like the twirl.
What makes it seem like breakfast? Sometimes when I fix a plain vanilla cake for my birthday I'll eat some of it in the morning, but I would assume most people would think of pancakes as the only kind of "cake" for breakfast.
