Okay, I guess I should explain why I haven’t posted a recipe since early April. Well I’ve been extremely exhausted and nauseated. It’s all better now because I’m in my second trimester of pregnancy!! YES, I’m pregnant! yayyyy! Also, everything should be back to normal in August. We bought our first house and are moving in July! The kitchen is huge and has an island, it has a plug for my stand mixer *so excited* Expect many many recipes

This is the first dessert that I make in a few months and there’s a reason for it. We’re celebrating my son’s birthday! He’s 2 years old already. He’s really into Mickey Mouse Clubhouse so I thought I would make him Mickey inspired cupcakes. Yep, those candy melts are meant to be little ears. I had originally purchased some Wilton’s Mickey Mouse cupcake liners but when I opened the package my nose smelled the most horrible smell ever. This is the second time that I buy cupcake liners with this smell so it can’t be a coincidence. What’s up with that? I mean, sure, these cupcakes might not be as healthy as a bowl of fruit but jeez louise, Wilton, I don’t want to poison my child.

I have to confess to having a deep distrust of Wilton. Their products are either hit or miss entirely, and most often miss entirely. The concept is often good, but the execution is very different.

I haven't forgiven them for the cake level that was the biggest waste of $50 in my life. And their terrible fondant that I've never tasted but is apparently so awful that people react angrily to any cake covered in fondant. :shakefish:

I heard about their fondant too. It's apparently horrible. But you know, I can't stand the taste of fondant anyway, even the homemade marshmallow one.
So far I've been extremely disappointed with Wilton. I was lucky to find an extra pack of normal liners. I thought I only had the Mickey ones!
Nope, I don't want to poison my child on his birthday, thanks!

I have never heard of cupcake liners having a smell before, I would be suspicious too!

It's the second time that this happens to me :( Two different brands. At first I thought "hey, maybe it's just my super sense of smell from being preggo". I asked my husband, parents, and inlaws to smell them. They all said it smelled disgusting and were happy I didn't bake with them. So yay $4 down the drain :(
